Our Chevrolet Traverse Test-Drive

As you may know, my family had an opportunity to test drive a Chevrolet Traverse for a week. It happened the week we went to the beach, so we were really able to put it through its paces! You can see all the things that I was excited about trying out in my first post. The Chevy Traverse has a bunch of features that really set it apart from other SUVs in its class. Now that I’ve had a chance to drive it for a week, here’s a video of our experience:
 

 

Here’s what really stood out to my family and me during our Chevy Traverse test drive: For one thing, the amount of room we had really got our attention right away. The Chevy Traverse does not look as roomy on the outside as it does on the inside — which is a very good thing because it can fit into any parking space with ease. Inside, though, we could tell that a lot of thought was put into making the most of the available space. Not only does the Chevy Traverse seat up to 8 people,* every one of those people has sufficient leg room. Our current SUV seats eight, but if you are unlucky enough to sit in the third row, your knees will be up to your chin. The Chevy Traverse, on the other hand, had very comfortable third-row seating.

 

 
My husband was very impressed with the gas mileage. The Chevy Traverse has up to a 520-mile highway range** on one tank of gas. With gas prices only going up, this could make a big difference in your family’s budget. We both loved the fact that the Chevy Traverse handled smoothly and effectively shut out a lot of outside road noise. This was another big difference from our current SUV. The air conditioner in the Chevy Traverse was sublime. On a long car trip to Florida in the summertime, extreme heat is inevitable and it’s impossible not to get a little overheated in the car on the way down. I noticed in the Chevy Traverse, though, that I was always surprised at how hot it was outside each time we made a pit stop during our road trip. The interior of the Chevy Traverse was always so nice and cool that my subconscious was telling me that it must not be very hot outside.

 
I loved the feeling of safety I had while we traveled in the Chevy Traverse. It has an NHTSA 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score for Safety*** as well as an available industry-first Front Center Air Bag****. Just knowing that the Chevy Traverse had these features made for a much less stressful ride to the beach.

We relied on technology to keep the kids occupied during our 12-hour (!) road trip, so the USB port***** was put to use pretty much the entire time we were on the road! I loved the fact that I could plug in my MP3 player and pull up my playlist of songs. I had made a beach playlist of 243 songs, so we were never out of music while we were on the road. We were also able to listen to several of our favorite podcasts by plugging in my smartphone. This definitely made our long drive more bearable! I was sad to have to return the Chevy Traverse. It was beginning to feel like part of the family!

 
And frankly, I think this Chevy Traverse felt the same way.
