Speaking of holiday traditions, I definitely have a tradition of buying Hickory Farms gift baskets for at least one friend or relative each year.

Hickory Farms also has an established tradition of sending some sort of Christmas gift basket to me each year so that I can blog about it, which is great because I get to sample everything and remember how good it all is, right before I start ordering gifts for Christmas!

This year, I received a Hickory Farms gift box just before Thanksgiving, full of smoked cheeses and sausage, crackers, and mustards. When my parents and grandmother came into town a few days later, I served it to them on a cheese board to nosh . They had already eaten lunch and weren’t very hungry when they arrived– yet within an hour or two, pretty much everything on that cheeseboard WAS GONE.

My father, who like me is a HUGE cheese snob, even commented on how good the cheeses were. “Hickory Farms,” I told him, enjoying the look of surprise on his face.

So yeah. I highly recommend anything from Hickory Farms, since I think by now I’ve tried and loved pretty much everything they make and it’s all very reasonably priced. And obviously, I’m hardly the only Hickory Farms fan. For more than 60 years Hickory Farms gifts have been a classic holiday tradition that brings family and friends together. Like me, many of you have a distinct memory of Hickory Farms at your holiday gatherings; Hickory Farms is very proud to be a part of those nostalgic moments and continues to focus on and celebrate its long heritage of tradition and authentic holiday memories.

mm, my dad would always get those baskets as gifts at his office, then he would bring home the summer sausage for us to eat with the cheddar and crackers we already had.. Good times.

Oh my goodness. My favorite memory is when I sent my parents a gift basket when my husband and I were stationed away from home. They loved it, then we surprised them with a visit for Christmas and got to enjoy the goodies with them. they had no idea that we were going to be there for the holiday. I will never forget the look on my mothers face. She was so happy to see us.

When we were kids we ALWAYS got my dad (complements of my mom) a Hickory Farms gift basket! My mom would take us to the mall and let us fight over which one to get. My older sister always won!

My favorite memory? Black Friday shopping and being famished only to see the oasis that was Hickory Farms in the middle of the mall. They were handing out free samples. Thank you Hickory Farms!

Can you believe I’ve NEVER EVER EVER had a Hickory Farms product?!?!?!? I think the baskets look absolutely delicious, but I’ve never gotten to confirm my suspicions. No one has ever purchased one for me, and I think they are a bit of a splurge to buy for myself. I did ask for one in 4th grade once. Since we lived in a very remote area without a Hickory Farms store (and were sorta poor) my mom bought me a knock off version. I was grateful for the gift, but honestly, I really wanted a Hickory Farms assortment!

We’ve started doing that Christmas Eve, after the church service. We munch on crackers/cheese/sausage, make french onion soup and watch old Christmas movies that my parents recorded but don’t show on TV any more (Can you say California Raisin’s Christmas Special?)

My favorite Hickory Farms memory was Christmas 2005 when I served my oldest son who had just returned from serving in Iraq a wonderful variety of Hickory Farms snacks, and he commented that he had thought at one point he would never be eating such wonderful food again.

My parents would sometimes be lucky to get one of the Hickory Farms gift baskets when I was young. I remember gathering with family talking, watching the old Christmas shows, and snacking on some of the delicious cheese and sausage on crackers. :) Would love to win one for my husband and I!

we could never afford a full priced hickory farms product before Christmas, so we would go the day after and buy a modest box at half price. we didnt have much money, but we sure enjoyed the day after Christmas!

About a week before Christmas when it seems to be the most hectic, we stop cooking dinner and snack instead. Everyone stops by the store, or makes a little something – kind of like finger foods. We have our own little week-long Christmas party. Those meat and cheese logs are ALWAYS a part of our nightly snack.

My favorite Hickory Farms memory is from when I was in college. My family received quite few sets for Christmas, so I took a bunch back to the dorm with me. My roommate, friends, and I lived on that stuff for a week. Who knew it was perfect dorm food!

My Father
loved Hickory Farms. In his later years, when he had everything he could ever
want or need, my fall back Christmas Present for him was a biggest gift package
of Hickory Farms that I could afford (which usually was a small gift package!
LOL). He loved the sausage best, and always acted like it was the best present

Every year when I was a kid, we would go to the mall on Christmas Eve to people watch and would inevitably end up at the Hickory Farms kiosk. My dad would never buy anything there all the other times we were at the mall but would always wait until Christmas Eve and then complain about the small selection – hello, you should have bought it before Christmas Eve like we kids said.

I buy my dad a Hickory Farms summer sausage every single year for Christmas. It’s become a family joke/tradition that each year he tries to guess what the beautifully wrapped, decidedly sausage-shaped gift could be. It’s fun.

My memory is my first Christmas married to my Husband, he had just gotten back from deployment and wanted to purchase me a gift so he opted for a Hickory Farms gift basket. Its something I had never tried and I can distinctly recall how amazing the smoked cheese was!

I bought Hickory Farms baskets for my grandparents every Christmas. They have all passed away now. Last year was the first year I had no one for which to buy a basket so I couldn’t bring myself to buy anything. This year though I’m going to force myself to pick something up to enjoy.
