  7. Marcia says:

    >Damn, I need to scroll down and read the-comment-that-will-appear-above-mine before I post a comment next time. And make sure that it’s not exactly the same as mine. But you’re beautiful, and I’m happy for you, and I’m excited when good things happen to my favorite bloggers, becuase it gives me hope that maybe, when I’m all alone and hating my life in Akron next year, if I can’t find anything else, I’ll be able to do something with my blog and writing. Even if I’m not as funny as you.

  8. Nicole says:

    >I’ve been a fan for a long time but rarely (ever?) comment. I’m a fellow Nashvillean and will look forward to having Lindsay as a wonderful addition to the Scene.Congratulations on all of your success. It is inspiring.

  21. >Just as I imagined, but even better.Strikingly gorgeous and a great sense o’ humor. No wonder I’m following you around like a puppy dog :)Congrats on the column, L. You rock.

  34. >Congratulations! You’re an inspiration – really.(you’re cute too!)

  35. Carrien says:

    >Wow, I feel so…. stunned. You mean you don’t really look like that avatar you’ve had up until now?:)I was in love with her because she was all pretty and pouty, and just a little bit mischievous looking, and now here you are, and you’re prettier, and a great deal less pouty, but you look like you could still do some damage with a raised eyebrow.Congratulations.

  36. >Congrats on coming out of the closet, so to speak! 😉 You’re resourceful and that got you places! You’re also young, beautiful and have no where to go but upward and onward!!!! And we can say we knew you when! Does this mean we won’t have “The Perfect Post” anymore 🙁 See you on Oprah!

  44. Natsthename says:

    >Fabulous!!! Congratulations and nice to meet you, Lindsay! I’m Natalie (yes, I use my real name in my blog!).

  45. Meredith says:

    >How super groovy cool, Lindsay! I can’t wait to read more in your column. Does this mean that you’re putting the blog to rest? And are there no restrictions as far as language and topic go? Most curious. I guess I’ll see for myself soon, soon, soon. You deserve it. YOu have a way with the words!

  46. Vanessa says:

    >Congratulations!!! You’re a great writer and will have lots and lots of success! (You’ll always be Lucinda to me, too!!)

  47. gretchenhr says:

    >That was great! I’m new to your site (sent to me by another sahm). Now I know why I like you (Lucinda) and your site so well. BTW Oscar and Lucinda is one of my favorite stories. I was an English major once upon a time. You are a beautiful woman and I can’t imagine people not noticing you whether you work at home or not! Thanks for sharing and I will continue to check your site out daily. Good luck with the new adventure!

  48. Star says:

    >Wow, sort of a coming out, huh? Good for you. You’ll always be Lucinda to me.

  49. >Oh my, I knew the eyebrow too! And oh.my.goodness, you have one of those huge gorgeous American smiles!! You realise they are illegal in several countries, don’t you? But not in Australia, fortunately, because we loved you before the smile, and we love you still, Ms L.

  50. Diane says:

    >Congratulations! Persistence pays off.Having to “expose” yourself, so to speak, may seem scary, but it’s that up-front, balls-outs honesty and humor that make us love you.Best of luck!Diane

  51. >I can’t believe you guys! You are so, so very nice. And I am so touched. I’ve teared up several times reading your comments, er, I mean, I got something in my eyes and they watered a little!Okay, here are some answers to some of your questions/comments…-First off, putting up the pictures feels a little cheesy to me, but I realized if you’re going to have a name, you’d probably like a face, too. I didn’t even HAVE pictures in my computer of myself! I had to get my husband to take those last night. Talk about last-minute. I was going to try and imitate the avatar, but frankly I was too damn tired.-Yes, it’s my birthday today. Perfect timing, huh? -Peanut’s Mom was in fact my very first reader. And when I first started reading her blog a year ago, she had just been told she could never get pregnant. Not long after that, she got pregnant! Now she has a precious baby boy! Just thought I’d share that with you.-I am telling my mom and dad about the blog TONIGHT, when we have dinner with them. I am soooo nervous. So rest assured that my mom probably will have read every single thing on this blog within the next 24 hours. But if she gets mad, I’ll just write about it. And every time she gets mad, I’ll write about it until she’s afraid to get mad anymore. Heh heh.We will still have the Perfect Post Awards every month. Nothing here will change, except that I’ll let you guys know when the column’s up on the newspaper website each week, just like I let you know when my Mamarazzi post is up (Uh, today’s my day there too, by the way, so check it out!) I’ll also post from time to time on the Scene’s blog, Pith in the Wind. And I really hope you’ll read the newspaper column too, because it’s going to be like a Suburban Turmoil Deluxe post- since I’ll have been working on it for several days, rather than dashing something off and posting it like I do here. -I feel really weird about being outed. It was incredibly difficult to hit publish on this post. It feels like I’m making my diary public. I’m worried that people here won’t like it, or that some of the snarkier commenters at the Scene will come over here and start badgering me (because remember? I’ve never had a mean commenter here. Never. In the whole year that I’ve been blogging). But there’s something really wonderful about putting my real self out there, too. You can like me or you can leave me alone.-No restrictions on the column or on this blog- I probably won’t cuss quite as freely in the column, but I’m not prohibited from it, either.-MommaK, you are such an amazing friend. Thank you for your surprise party over at Petroville!-And to all of you, thank you so much for your support. I am filled with a really mushy feeling right now. Group hug! Group hug!

  52. Kathy C says:

  98. Kvetch says:

    >Way to go, Lucinda/Lindsay. What an accomplishment! But, the more I see all you young, gorgeous bloggers posting your photos, the more this blogging mama is staying under wraps!!

  99. daysgoby says:

    >Why, hello, Lindsay!Congratulations to you!You’re a terrific writer – and this couldn’t happen to a nicer gal.

  100. Kittywumpus says:

    >Dang, girl, you are BABE-E-LICIOUS! And Baby looks just like you, lucky her!! And while I’m completely surprised at your de-closeting, it’s nice to see the real you, and to see who writes all the stuff that cracks me up daily. Thanks!!

  102. cmhl says:

    >the Scene is bigtime!!! I read it every week!!!I even put a personal ad in it when I was in college, and got LOTS of responses. it was so fun!!!!!!!

  103. Dutch says:

    >wow, can I admit that I always found your old avatar kind of hot, in a wouldn’t-mind-running-into-her-down-at-the-tiki-bar kind of way.I think you may be the first blogger who’s actually hotter in real life than her avatar.and congrats on the print journalism deal; now you can’t stand around the water cooler with all the other journalists and bitch about those bloggers and how LAME they are.

  104. Kristen says:

    >Lucinda/Lindsay: This is so awesome! I am so happy for you! Good luck with all your new gigs, especially the one that forced you out of the “blogging closet”… Congratulations!

  116. christina says:

    >OH MY I haven’t been here in weeks, and you’ve gone and become FAMOUS. I’m so impressed (though I admit I’ll have a hard time getting over not calling you Lucinda)–and you’re drop dead gorgeous by the way. Some women get everything: brains, beauty, wit. You’re one of them! I’m so happy for you. Congrats.

  117. Kris says:

    >Aw, man. I stop reading blogs for a week or so and look at all that I missed! Your new look is great, congrats on the column, and you’re just so darned cute! Best of luck with your new public identity. 🙂

  118. Mindy says:

    >How have I not found you yet. Hmm, must kick y’s ass for not calling and telling me to LOG ON THIS MINUTE.LOVE your writing. And I love your tenacity. And jealous you get to hang out with Busy mom!Congratulations on the whole shebang.

  119. Anonymous says:

    >I’m a former Nashvillian who still reads the Scene online. I ADORED the Scene article when it started and just now put the two together! Fantastic writing! Congrats!

  120. >Congratulations! You’re living the life that I was certain was supposed to be mine, but you give me hope that some day, some editor or agent will finally give me the time of day too. I just found your blog through Mom101 and can’t stop reading it. It’s great!

  121. >I wish you were on our local televsion – all we get is someone’s Grandma.

  122. >Well my goodness! I had no idea you were famous! OMG! I have a link to a famous person on my blog!I forget how I ended up here, I think from petroville. Perfect post awards. I just loved the way you write, it’s real and easy to read. I’ve just been visiting most days, or nights depending when I work. You remind me of when my children were little. All the fun and chaos. It’s wonderful you can combine being a stay at home mom and your love for writing.

  123. coffespaz says:

    >Lindsay, Kudos to you for taking that all important first step. I am not a mother, but I am married and still find that sometimes we women seem to disappear. It is terrific that you have taken a talent and sought satisfaction from doing something that you want to do. Congratulations and PLEASE keep us posted on your success. I love reading your blog.

  124. Robin says:

    >I’m in the ‘Nooga area and hit your spot from a “Perfect Post” nomination I received from Kelly at Pass the Torch. Wow on your story :). Very cool. And with 123 comments, I can think of nothing witty or intelligent to say that hasn’t been said much better by others. But I DO hope you’ll visit me, if for no other reason I’m a SC transplant, too. So there ya go, a bit of kindredness in the blogosphere.

  125. Karen says:

    >Congrats! I wandered over here from Blog Her and I’m loving your writing style already! Looking forward to reading more from you!

  126. jjlibra says:

    >trying this one more time… found you by accident- so glad i stumble around in the dark!!

  127. Cherann says:

    >I too am a stay at home and I understand and empathize with a lot of what you write. I just want to say though that there are also a lot of stay at home moms that are just as condescending to moms that work.p.s. I really enjoy your style of writing. Keep it up and congratulations on the column.

  128. >cherann makes a good point – although in my experience mums who stay at home can also be cruel to other mums that stay at home! The politics between school mothers were what inspired my range of t-shirts! If there is a more politically charged environment than mothers dropping their offspring at school, I have yet to experience it!

  129. Rick says:

    >I was a TV reporter once. The only guy who recognized me (or admitted it) was the guy who rented adult videos. Perfect.

  130. Giselle says:

    >Your blog is awesome and I couldn’t agree more with the fact that you are working harder now as a mom 24/7 then you ever did at an actual job. A lot of people without children just don’t get that. There are a precious few that get it, but not the majority!Keep up the good work and, by the way, I LOVE your comments about the “Facinating Womanhood” book – now there is a book that should be burned!!!!!!!!!Giselle

  131. Cali says:

    >You said you “forged” friendships in your post. It will be nice to have an editor for your local publication, eh?

  132. >Forge: to form or make, esp. by concentrated effort: to forge a friendship through mutual trust.Gee, you’re dumb.

  133. Monica says:

    >Actually, “forged” could mean fashioned, shaped, or formed.Congrats on your accomplishment.
