Hi! I'm Lindsay Ferrier. You might remember me from a blog called Suburban Turmoil. Well, a lot has changed since I started that blog in 2005. My kids grew up, I got a divorce, and I finally left the suburbs for the heart of Nashville, where I feel like I truly belong. I have no idea what the future will hold and you know what? I'm okay with that. Thrilled, actually. It was time for something totally different.

Are your kids as obsessed with Amazon Alexa as mine are? My son has led the way in Alexa innovation, figuring out the many capabilities of his Amazon Echo and helping the rest of us learn to use it in so many endlessly fascinating ways. I’ve been inspired to sign up for the ‘What’s new with Alexa’ email so that I can share with him all of Alexa’s latest tricks. Some, like knock-knock jokes, are right up my son’s alley. Others are perfect for me — and for you.
One new feature I’m loving is that Amazon customers can now donate a toy to Toys for Tots via Alexa by simply saying, “Alexa, donate to Toys for Tots.”
Amazon will be matching customer donations throughout the end of the year, toy for toy, doubling customers’ contributions! I’m all about stretching my donation dollars as far as possible, so I’m a big fan of Alexa’s newest feat.
This is especially cool because it marks the first time customers can donate a product to a charity using voice shopping. Give it a try and help kids in need have a brighter Christmas!
