Yesterday morning, my husband and I hauled ourselves and our little ones out of bed and drove three hours up to Santa Claus, Indiana, for a visit to…
It was our second visit and I have to say we’re completely hooked. I know the place sounds completely kitschy- and it is- but Holiday World is also the cleanest, friendliest, least-crowded amusement park we’ve ever been to, it has TONS of rides for everyone from toddlers to teens and adults (including the scariest roller coaster I’ve ever ridden- and I’ve ridden lots!), and it also contains a water park with even more great rides that we’ve never even had a chance to visit- You really need two days for this park.
Last year, we stayed at the RV park next door, where you can actually book a rental RV for the night. As you can imagine, that experience was a HUGE hit with the kids, and Hubs and I had a great time as well.
However, this year both our older girls were working, and I personally think there’s a word for parents who leave their teens alone at home overnight.
Idiots.
And so, a day trip to Holiday World it was!
We were particularly excited about three-year-old Bruiser’s Holiday World experience-It was the first year that he was old enough to really enjoy the rides. We started him out in one of the kids’ areas near the gate.
