>This morning, I watched my 13-year-old stepdaughter’s soccer team play a game against some particularly tough opponents. All of our players have developed pretty advanced technical skills over the years, save for one who does little more than chase after the ball and halfheartedly attempt to kick it.
The other team quickly pinpointed our weak spot and kicked the ball right past her over and over again as I sat with Baby on the sidelines. You moron! I kept thinking to myself. Oh! Not again! You moron!
Suddenly, another one of our girls stole the ball and headed for the goal.
“Go, moron!” I screamed.
A few parents turned to look at me. “Heh,” I chuckled weakly.
>oh F*ck ,you did not!!!! Oh, I can so analyze you if you like. LOL never cease to amuse me.
>Ooooooops! Maybe the other parents thought it was an affectionate nickname…? Okay, maybe not. ;^)
>Thanks to that post, there’s now Sprite all over my WORK keyboard and screen. Post is simply hysterical…
>That is hilarious. I have done this, too, only moron was not the word in question. I was in biology class reading a report on organisms, and yes, you guessed it…it came out orgasm not once, but twice. I got an A+. =)
>ur blog is brilliant
>What can you say, you’re passionate about kiddie soccer. LOL!
>Spell it out for them nicely:GO. MORE. ON. (and then I was going to add, of course: “to victory.”)What’s wrong with that, fuzzbucket?
>Oh no a moment of whats on your mind speaking out loud!:)
>I hope you followed it up with “Her name is Maura, right?”
>At least it was clean, right? LOL
>LMAO.
>omg, that is hilarious! Sorry I missed you today, I didn’t end up being there all that long in the am.
>Yet another reason I realize I could like you in person!!!
>how appropriately inapproriate!
>oops..
>At least you didn’t say fucking moron 🙂
>Peanut’s Mom- Analyze away! Hoss- Brilliant. If only I’d thought of that. I was trying to think of something that rhymed with “moron,” but came up empty…Busy Mom- I gotta talk to you about the team we played. Whoa.
>Hey, I think we’re talking about you over on my blog. ;?)Kidding aside, it’s easy to get swept up in the moment. I’ve heard worse, believe it or not.
>See this is why I keep my mouth shut at these events- not because I’m better then everyone- because I’m afraid of what I may say!
>Oh I just hate it when the things in my brain get out in public!!!!! 🙂
>I sure you meant it in the NICEST of ways. 😉
>As a fellow soccer mom, and former team mom (I passed that on as soon as someone would take it!) ;), I have definitely been there. It just gets emotional and before you know it you’re yelling, “What the hell are you doing?!” and then thinking, “Did I really just say that out loud?”
>Hey Lucinda, I’ve tagged you! Visit my blog for the details!
