I'm Lindsay Ferrier, a Nashville wife and mother with a passion for family travel, (mostly) healthy cooking, exploring Tennessee, and raising kids without losing my mind in the process. This is where I share my discoveries with you, along with occasional deep thoughts, pop culture tangents and a sprinkling of snark.
November 27, 2018
Being a mother has changed the way I look at children — all children.
I feel an overwhelming love for my kids and an intense desire to protect them at all costs and give them the best possible future. I count my blessings every single day that we have the means to give our children everything they need. We’re able to buy healthy food for them, to shelter them and clothe them and educate them and make them feel safe, and to meet their medical needs no matter the cost.
Because of my experience, my heart shatters now when I see other children around the world who don’t have adequate medical care, or enough food to eat, or clothes that fit or a safe place to live. I know these children have mothers and fathers who feel that same fierce love that I feel for my own kids, and I can’t imagine the worry and heartache they must feel when they aren’t able to adequately provide for their little ones.
That’s why organizations like World Vision are so important to me. On my own, I can’t do much, but by donating to World Vision, I know I’m helping to support millions of children around the world and give them a chance at a brighter future. World Vision is a Christian organization that serves close to 100 million people in nearly 100 countries, including the United States. World Vision serves all people, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender.
And if you donate to World Vision today, November 27, Thirty-One Gifts will match your donation with a donation of product (up to $2 million dollars) in honor of Giving Tuesday.
