Once upon a time, there lived a wild and carefree lion.
He loved to laze and loll about, basking in the warm sun on the African plains.
But when he grew hungry, his muscles would tense and he’d become alert, stalking his prey with the greatest intensity.
He’d center in on his target and chase it down, running like the wind that rustled through the tall grasses of the savanna.
And then he’d attack, ripping into his meal with courageous gusto!
Occasionally, though, an elephant would come along and bust that hunt up.
The lion would stand staring for a moment, unwilling to believe that all his hard work had come to nothing.
Eventually, he’d come to terms with the loss of his dinner and leave, empty-pawed and empty-bellied.
Poor, hungry lion.
He’d wander about dazedly, bemoaning the loss of his dinner. He bemoaned so loudly once, that a beautiful little girl overheard him.
“Poor lion,” she said gently. “You look hungry and alone. Here. Take some of my dinner.”
The lion stared at her. “It’s okay,” she said. “Go ahead. Have some.” Finally, the lion took up a pawful of her dinner and he ate. And then he ate some more. And he ate and he ate and he ate.
And he ended up eating every last bit of the kind little girl’s dinner! “Bad lion!” the girl said. “I’m telling Mommy!”
But the lion looked at her with his big, blue eyes and she had to forgive him. And that is how the lion and the little girl became friends.
And they are friends still.
The End

>very cute.
>That is really sweet!
>Okay, your kids are just too cute. I am so jealous at how sweet to each other. Does that mean you and hubs are going to be tim man and scarecrow?
>My kids are way big now and dressing like the Joker and a vampire, but I can always come over here for my cute little kid fix.
>Punky is the best. and what an awesome lion Bruiser is – especially with the pout.
>i love love love how people dress tbeir kids up as matching :o)they are adorable!!!can’t wait to see pictures of them on halloween!!!
>I just got lucky. A woman my dad works with gave us the Dorothy costume last year, and I found the lion costume at a consignment sale, new, for $10! Voila.
>lovely
>Dying from the cute!!
>Ack! That is just too precious! It almost makes me want another one just so I could make them match! Almost…Hold on, she’s screaming for no reason again…Nevermind!
>Adorable.
>I heart consignment sales. I found a bear costume (similar in look to your lion) for $6.50!Your kids are too cute.
>This story is so cute! I bet the kids would love it if you printed it out and made a little story book for them. But… is that a Dorothy costume without sparkly red shoes from Target? What kind of bon-bon eating suburban housewife are you? I’m disappointed, Lindsay.
>so cute. i love the story. just wonderful.
>That look when he sees the elephant . . . OMG that is adorable.
>as it should be… until the tween years 🙂
>I love those zip-up costumes–adorable. One of the kids I babysit had a 2-piece monkey one…basically like a very elaborate hoodie so was comfortable but perfect for Halloween! Both of your kids look so cute 🙂 Hope you have a great time on Halloween.

>Hi, I’m literate. That should say, “The cute IS almost too much.”
>I absolutely love this!
>Absolutely adorable. Is it a sad state of affairs that in today’s world, the first thing I thought of was that the Dorothy outfit was actually one of those being marketed at the tween/teen girls that is super-short, yet it fits Punky like a normal dress would.
>This was SO cute!(The shot after the elephant fucked it up, where Lion stands staring, OMG he’s so adorable!)
>Thats just freaking adorable! OMG. I mean I have really cute kids, but yours take the cake! Have a safe and happy Halloween!
