Hi! I'm Lindsay Ferrier. You might remember me from a blog called Suburban Turmoil. Well, a lot has changed since I started that blog in 2005. My kids grew up, I got a divorce, and I finally left the suburbs for the heart of Nashville, where I feel like I truly belong. I have no idea what the future will hold and you know what? I'm okay with that. Thrilled, actually. It was time for something totally different.
October 27, 2011
I was working on a blog post for today, but then I thought, “You know what? I really want to do something fun with my kids. I can publish this when I get back.” And so we went to the Adventure Science Center here in Nashville. And when we got back to our car at the end of the afternoon, what you see in the above photo was waiting for us.
So much for that blog post.
The good news: as far as flat tires go, it really couldn’t have gone any better. We were in a safe place, I had a movie in our portable DVD player for the kids to watch, and we just signed up for Triple A a few months ago, so I made a call and the guy arrived within 15 minutes. Within another 15 minutes he was done and we were back on the road.
Phew!
As for why I’ve been off the grid a little more than usual lately– well, big things are afoot. Things I can’t tell you about quite yet. (I know. ANNOYING.) Those things required a little bit of traveling and a lot of preparation and all I can say is that 1) my life is about to go in a very, very different direction than what I would have foreseen a month ago, 2) I have been offered an opportunity I simply couldn’t refuse, and 3) OMG I AM SO EXCITED. And a little bit terrified. But in my world, that’s a very good thing. In fact, I think it’s when I’m at my best.
Am I being cryptic enough for you?!
I hope to tell you what’s going on by next week, and I DEFINITELY plan on getting that blog post up by tomorrow, come hell or high water.
See you soon!

SOON. I’m dying to tell you! 🙂
Should we start guessing? Like, have you been invited to join a Spice Girls reunion tour?
Close! LOL
So exciting!
Exciting things! Yay! 😀 But I do miss you…
On another note, isn’t Triple A the best? They rescued me and my husband on a rainy night when we got run off the road by a stupid driver who apparently couldn’t see the lines, went through a huge pothole and blew out two tires. It was, like, midnight and we were stranded on the median of the interstate. So we called and they said it would be something like two hours before a driver could get to us because there were so many incidents that night. Oh well, whaddya do…*ahem*sit in the car and make out*ahem*…but within 45 minutes a Triple A truck pulled up! The driver had been just about to finish his shift when the operator called him and begged him to take just one more call. He was so nice. I still refer to him as our angel.
I miss me too. LOL. I love this site, but the last few weeks have rocked my world. To be going one direction and then turn and start going in another equally awesome direction is psychologically exhausting! ;D
And yes, so glad we got Triple A. I’ll keep it forever, because I NEVER want to change a tire myself.
Can’t wait to find out the news!!!!!!!
