It’s All Been a Blur

YOU GUYS.

When I told you I had a few new gigs at CafeMom and would be a little bit busier, I HAD NO IDEA.

Working as CafeMom’s new election correspondent has made me frantic enough, but what’s kept me from writing here at all over the last couple of weeks was my Style Dare video series for CafeMom Studios, which is now officially called “I’ll Take That Dare,” and which I just spent the last three days shooting. And when I say “days,” I’m talking 14 hours EACH day of total, nonstop public embarrassment.

Um. Yeah.

In the past three days, I have:

• pretended to be an animal
• pretended to be a rock star
• endured sitting on a barstool next to the World’s Most Offensive Man
• been mistaken for a clown
• been mistaken for a 19th century courtesan
• posed for MANY iPhone pictures for strangers
• had a song written for me

• danced on stage during a show
• convinced a table full party goers to sing “For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow”
• been kicked out of a bar
• been kicked out of a shop
• been confronted by an angry Santa
• attempted (and failed) to drink a shot of Wild Turkey
• channeled a mime
• danced on a sidewalk in a cowboy hat

Those are just a FEW of the things I’ve done — and we’ve still got another day of shooting to go later this week!

I will say that there were many, many moments over the last three days when I stopped and thought, Lindsay Ferrier, you have hit rock bottom. And then I reminded myself that this whole series was MY IDEA. I can at least say that I went big with this one. I just hope it was worth it!

At any rate, I can now add “created and starred in my own reality series” to my Reverse Bucket List. And that’s gotta count for something, right?

Once we’re done shooting the series, things will calm down for me somewhat, although I’m now preparing for another big trip to Iowa right after Christmas for Moms Matter. I would never say this anywhere else but here: SQUEE.)  I promise, though, that I’ll be checking in more often. I have SOOOOOO many stories to tell you.
