>I May Live to Regret This

  1. Lori says:

    >See, that is why I love you! I tried the netti pot too and laughed about the whole time – it was the weirdest feeling ( and ahh, I may have swallowed a bit too uhh gross). I am going to the doctor in a few minutes to get me some antibiotics as well. They do always seem to do the trick, but I am still always looking for some “natural” fix.

  2. Tammy says:

    >OMG….I am still laughing. That has made my day and convinced me to NEVER try the Netti Pot! 🙂

  3. Jenny says:

    >OMG how funny. I have seen those on TV, but have never been brave enough to try it.

  4. Angie says:

    >OMG…that was hysterical.

  5. Kathryn says:

    >That was hilarious!!!! Thanks for sharing.I too will NEVER try a neti-pot.

  6. Erika says:

    >lol….but at least it was not an colonoscopy

  7. bereccah says:

    >I can’t believe how calm you were though the um, treatment. That was horrible!

  8. Lindy says:

    >He even got multiple camera angles – in case we didn’t get the point from the side. LOL!!!!

  9. tpmom says:

    >Thank you for trying it so we don’t have to!!!! My Aunt keeps trying to get me to do it, I’m forwarding the video to her now.

  10. Kylie says:

    >That is so funny. I laughed out loud all alone in my living room. Thanks for sharing. I’d been considering a neti pot, but now… 🙂

  11. Kelley says:

    >Oh wow…you just got me through the rest of my work day! Hilarious!

  12. Bren says:

    >That was too funny! I would definitely give that video 5 stars for effort and comedic value!

  13. Anonymous says:

    >Don’t knock it before you’ve given in a fair try at least a couple of times. It’s no miracle, but it does work! Not for strep or bad sinus infections, of course.

  14. Anonymous says:

    >how nice to have an audience! sometimes antibiotics are the only thing that will work. the whole sinus irrigation thing is a scary proposition. one false move, and you’re drowning in foulness. thanks for being brave so we don’t have to. btw, punky looks just like molly on the movie annie. (my six year old and i watched it this weekend, her first time. i know all the words)

  15. >I made the mistake of having my 2 year old on my lap when I started the video. She looked at you and said, “She’s going to show us how to use a teapot.” Then you actually put the pot in your nose and my kid had a visible shuddering reaction to it. Between your video and her response, it was a hilarious couple of minutes.

  16. >Ha! I am a big believer in The Neti, so much so that I wouldn’t even give mine up to huff bourbon, and that is saying A LOT.

  17. >I told myself not to give tips but I am bumrushing myself to say:It’s easier in the shower you have to tilt your head to build up pressure and then a few minutes after you are afraid you have drowned it is workingif you did it right one tissue is not enoughwhew. that’s all.

  18. Anonymous says:

    >Hahah, I have one of those torture devices too. Mine did work, at least it did when it wasn’t making me feel like I was drowning.Tiffany

  19. Poppy Buxom says:

    >OMG I bought one and was too chicken to use it. And now? Maybe I’ll eBay it. I can see the listing now:L@@K!!! BNIB! Nasal Douche! New!

  20. >I can’t believe so many of you use the Neti Pot. It must be America’s dirty little sinus secret.

  21. Gertie says:

    >All I can say is W.T.F.

  22. Funky Kim says:

    >I heart my neti pot! It helps if you’re not laughing while trying to use it. And your head needs to be turned more to the side. I’m glad you found some relief with antibiotics.

  23. >I’ve had several people recommend those but was never brave enough to try it, and didn’t even know what it looked like. Now I know. And I’ll never, ever do it.Thanks (as usual) Lindsay!

  24. judy in ky says:

    >Waterboarding?! Well, you still look adorable!

  25. SoMo says:

    >I think the Neti pot works well for mild cases. I have never had strep throat, but I did get sinus problems from time to time. The Neti Pot gave me temporary relief. Would I ever tape it, hell no, but that is why you are special and I am not. 🙂

  26. Laurie says:

    >LOL that was hilarious – thank you for sharing. I will not be investing in a Netti pot. I am also jealous of how gorgeous you still look while sick!

  27. >LMAO…I never heard of a Netti Pot, but you have provided a ‘genuine’ public service with this video, me thinks 😉

  28. Amber says:

    >Oh my goodness! That was horrible and hilarious all at the same time. I commend your bravery!

  29. >I am CRYING at my desk from laughing so hard…the look on Punky’s face was hysterical and I love the running commentary from Hubs as he’s filming…drugs seem to be the only alternative at this point!

  30. Katie says:

    >I get such horrible sinus infections, I swear by my Sani-Rinse bottle. It’s like a Neti Pot, just more of a bottle that you squeeze to push the liquid up into your nose. No leaning at odd angles or such, much easier for me. I use it many times to keep the sinuses clear!

  31. >OMG that is too funny. Your little girl is like “WHAAAA?”My chiropractor recommended one back before Christmas when I had the chronic crud and I ignored her. HA! ;)You are hilarious woman!

  32. >OMG I pee’d my pants watching this!!! You cracked me up but honey, you need to kick Arnold to the curb for suggesting that!

  33. Steph. says:

    >I have always wondered about the Neti. But, I have to say, the visual of you and that stuff running into your mouth, yeah…I’m pretty sure I won’t ever try that now. Your daughter looked seriously concerned about you. HA!

  34. Zip n Tizzy says:

    >Oh that was funny!Thank you for the great laugh. Not at you of course. With you!

  35. Valerie says:

    >I have a netti pot too and, although it sucks while you are using it, it really does clean out your sinus’s. You definitely need to tip your head forward more. I agree with the person who commented earlier and said it’s easier in the shower. If I used it the way you did I think I would have gotten all the water in my mouth, then I would have gagged and thrown up. I can hardly breath let alone talk or laugh when I use mine, you made it look easy. A netti pot won’t do jack for strep throat, only antibiotics will work for that. Too bad you didn’t know that’s what was wrong in the first place or you wouldn’t have had to go through this. BTW, it’s good you finally went in because untreated strep can cause rheumatic fever, even though it’s rare, it’s very serious. Glad you are feeling better and thanks for sharing the video. Love your blog.

  36. Kathy says:

    >That is gloriously awesome!Fine holiday fun for everyone!:-)(My eyes were totally watering while watching that!)

  37. Desiree says:

    >Hey…I give you HUGE credit for having on makeup during your trial. I was fighting the same stuff back at the end of February & trying everything so I wouldn't have to go to the doctor (lack of insurance right now). I tried the sinus rinse (same thing but you hold your head over the sink and shoot it up your nose from a bottle) and it was okay. I absolutely HATE water up my nose so I was really afraid of it…now that I know it wasn't so bad, I'll be doing it anytime I start to feel my allergies kicking in and I need to make sure it doesn't turn into something worse.Mucinex nose spray finally broke it up for me and taking the tablets and Sudafed Severe Cold finally did the trick and for once I didn't need antibiotics…it just took me a few weeks to kick it on my own. Thanks for the laugh.

  38. >Ummmmm. forget the nice things I said about you on this blog and my blog.. you .. after reading this blog forever.. just made me pee a little. Mental note.. never let my Hubs recommend medical relief. CeCe
