This month, I am pleased and proud to give out my award to Ms. Perfect Post herself- MommaK! I know, I know, it’s weird to give the award to my co-hostess, but this particular post moved me more than any other in December. I think you’ll agree with me that this post simply and eloquently conveys all of the bittersweet emotion that a mom experiences when her child begins the slow spiral into the teen years. And the accompanying photograph? Priceless.
My own mom told me recently, “Honey, teenagers do everything they can to make you want them to move out because it’s nature’s way of helping them to leave the nest without either of you losing your minds over it.” Hmm. What she said made sense. Why didn’t I listen to her more growing up???
Anyway, MommaK brought this all to mind, as well as a little heartache on her behalf. Congratulations, K! You’re an amazing mom and with your Jazzercise skills, I know you’ll get through this whole teen angst thing just fine.
