>Guess where I’ll be tonight?
The Presidential Debate! Yes, me! I am background checked and credentialed! I’m going! And I have the water to prove it.
I got a call last night from a very trusted source that a certain creature has managed to bypass the heavy security at Belmont University and as far as I know, resides in the Debate auditorium as we speak. Here is an artist’s rendition of the creature:
That’s right. My sources (which may or may not have something to do with this truck parked outside my house), tell me a bat has somehow made its way into the auditorium and as far as I know, IS THERE STILL. Just in time for Halloween!
Now, Belmont officials may have caught the little guy, but that auditorium is (appropriately for the bat) cavernous, people, so I’m thinking there’s an excellent chance that he flies there still. Can you even imagine the possibilities? A bat at the Presidential Debate? This could potentially be hilarious a public relations nightmare.
Stay tuned for my full report! And if you want my political take on the matter, it’s up now over at BlogHer.com. I’m planning on making my mind up tonight, dear readers, and I (gulp) promise to give you my decision tomorrow. (EDITED TO ADD that um, it was naive of me to think I’d have a final decision the very next day. Because while I liked one candidate better during the debate, I ended up leaving with more questions than answers. I should have seen that one coming.)

>Decision time has arrived, huh?! Can’t wait to see your choice.
>Could you imagine if the election was decided by how the candidates reacted to a bat dive-bombing them onstage?!?McCain would probably grab it out of mid-air and bite it’s head off!
>I’ll be very interested to hear about your decision.I commented on this before, but Sarah Palin was really what decided it for me. I’m not Democrat or Republican, but she has absolutely no business being anywhere near the White House (in my opinion), and it concerns me so much that McCain seems to believe that she does.(I wrote this post on her if you’re interested, though of course it has my own personal biases: http://caffeinerd.wordpress.com/2008/09/26/sarah-palin-part-i/Looking forward to your debate coverage 🙂
>Sorry, just because that link somehow didn’t post:http://caffeinerd.wordpress.com/2008/09/26/sarah-palin-part-i/
>I have a view from my office window of the Loews, where supposedly one of the candidates (the one from Chicago) is staying. The area around West End/21st is crazy with police cars everywhere. There are random road blocks, etc. Have fun at the debate! Can you blog or twitter from your seat?
>Hi Lindsay–Here is a table of the actual figures laid out from both candidates’ plans. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/story/2008/06/09/ST2008060900950.htmlMy more conservative friends always play the tax card which is weird because I think if they looked at the actual figures, nearly all of them would be better off with Obama’s plan.
>Hi Lindsay: I hope you have an awesome time tonight! I wanted to send you the Obama tax calculator. http://alchemytoday.com/obamataxcut/. If your family does make more than $250,000 a year (and if it does, hats off, mama!) I’m hoping that an Obama presidency might save your family some money when it comes to health care (since McCain wants to tax employer health benefits) and on college tuition, too. I know your decision won’t come down only to money, but I thought it might help to see the tax calculator.
>Hey, as long as it isn’t a rabid bat you should be fine ;)http://www.parentdish.com/2008/10/04/mom-brings-rabid-bat-to-school/
>That was just a blood sucking lobbyist in his flying form.Don’t sit next to the pale gentleman with an overbite.Have fun.I am jealous.
>There’s no bias in the mommy blogosphere…
>I’ll be looking out for both you and the bat tonight when I watch the debate
>Did you ever see that episode of The Office when there was a bat in the office?
>When I heard this morning the debate was in Nashville I (honestly!) thought “gee I wonder if Lindsay will be there!”. Can’t wait for your review!
>Can’t wait to hear about your debate experience! Tweeted my (nonexistant) masses that you’re going. (BookMamma1)Loved your blogher article, and wondering about your Palin views… I need to peruse your archives – maybe I missed it.
>That is so cool to be so close to the candidates! I plan on watching the debate but I bet I would have a greater attention span and appreciation if I was right there! Have fun tonight, I’ll be looking for your choice soon!
>Can’t wait to hear your thoughts.
>You are the second blogger than I know there. I can’t wait to hear what you have to say.
>Listening to them discuss it on the radio this afternoon, my very first thought was, “Is Lindsay going to be there? I’m willing to bet money that she is!””Woo-Woo!”Can’t wait to hear your take on the whole thing. My guess is it will be anything but boring. I’m even willing to bet money on it!
>LOL…my choice was made after the conventions. But enjoy the debate experience. I promise you it’ll be memorable, even if the candidates’ answers aren’t.
