>I’ve been tagged, twice I think, to do this music meme. The trouble is, I don’t remember who it was that tagged me. Dammit. And it took me forever to get around to completing the meme, but the timing is now perfect since I just made a CD for myself yesterday. So instead of seven songs I’m listening to now, here’s my new playlist.
Breathe Me- Sia
Quicksand- Natalie Walker
Breakable- Ingrid Michaelson
Cut Your Hair- Pavement
When the Day is Short- Martha Wainwright
#9 Dream- REM
Mushaboom-Feist
I Lied- Telefon Tel Aviv
Maybe I’m Amazed- Jem
Ghosts in the Attic- Leona Naess
K-Hole-CocoRosie
Half Acre- Hem
Side of the Road (live acoustic version)- Lucinda Williams
Before This Time-Ollabelle
The Fear You Won’t Fall- Joshua Radin
Here Comes Your Ride- Holidays on Ice
Glory Bound- The Wailin’ Jennys
Our Love is Like a Wire- The Mendoza Line (okay, I confess, I know the guy who wrote and sings this song, but seriously Paul, it’s one of my all-time favorites.)
Tennessee- Mindy Smith
Rather than tagging anyone in particular, I want you to tell me your favorite song in the comments. Don’t agonize over it; just name the first one that comes to mind.

>Everywhere I turn….more music! I have to admit my fav’s aren’t really classics or anything. I love BareNaked Ladies – If I have a million dollars.
>Wires, by AthleteIt never really stood out to me until I met the singer, though. It was a totally chance meeting and he mentioned that he wrote the song because when his baby was born, there were all these wires attached and all he could do was stand at the nursery and worry. When I listened to the song again later, it became something I could really appreciate. And chez September, it hasn’t been turned off since =)
>John Mayer’s “Dreaming with a Broken Heart” off his Continuum CD.
>I could never pinpoint one favorite song (or 100). The newest one I can’t stop listening to is “Flathead” by The Fratellis. (iTunes brainwashes me with their commercials!)

>I’m also loving the REM cover of #9 Dream.

>World Wide Web Girl by ToyBox. This has been playing a lot at our house lately so it was the first song that popped in to my head.Do you know of any Disco songs? I know you were not around for the Disco age but we are searching for a Disco song for Pageant Mom. We have a list started but need help. Come over and check out the list if you have a chance.
>I have a hard time picking favorites, which is one reason I haven’t participated in this meme. I do have *some* of my favorites in two playlists on my blog and I frequently reference songs I like or which have wedged themselves in my brain in my posts. One song I’ve been singing and listening to a lot is “Candy Man” by Christina Aguilera. I’ve never cared much for her, but I like swing. I also like the 40s and this is a great video. The other song that’s currently stuck in my brain is “David Duchovny” by Bree Sharp–because I’m a big X-Files fan and I’d never heard this song or seen the hilarious video until two days ago and now I can’t quit singing it and laughing about it. I’m sure I’ll be fine in a few days:o)
>Lindsay you are far too kind but thank you for the plug.I heard Johnny Hartman sing ‘Like Someone in Love’ about ten years ago and still can’t get it out of my head. Album here.
>Just Like Heaven, by the Cure. All-time favorite.
>FidelityRegina Spektor
>Sade – By Your Side…By the way hip thing… I have never heard any from your playlist…Am I in the dark ages? Or just a big mainstream geek. You’d think that being in the radio biz might help!!!
>Walkin’ on Wunshine – Katrina and the WavesIs it possible to listen to that song and not feel uplifted? ~Amalia~
>Right now it is Enter the Sandman by metallica
>I have different favorite songs for different occasions and feelings, but the most played song in my library is My Immortal by Evanescense. Don’t laugh at me.
>I love so many songs, but one all-time fave is, “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking?” by The Rolling Stones.
>This week my favorite is “Punkrocker” by the Teddybears featuring Iggy Pop.I even made it my ringtone.
>Jimmy Buffet- Margaritaville
>I can’t pick a favorite *anything* you see because according to the Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument, I’m what they call “whole brained”. This means I think almost equally with all quadrants of my brain (ooooh aren’t you jealous??) which also means I can’t ever really commit to a favorite color, food, song, flower or anything for that matter. It’s annoying really, when important stuff like this comes up! But off the top of my head, I’m lovin’ pretty much anything by Bon Jovi or Little Big Town these days as well as the Natasha Bedingfield single “Unwritten”. ~Monica
>I love Matthew Good (Canadian) – both his solo stuff and his band (Matthew Good Band). Foo Fighters are right up there too. I don’t get a chance to listen to much, though…the girls listen to their CD’s and iTunes all the time. It’s like Radio Disney at our house!Hey, BTW! I saw you in my All You magazine! How cool! (Am I the gazillionth person who told you that? Sorry!)
>Okay, I’m dating myself with this one, but I love this song so much I even want it played as the recessional at my funeral: “Layla” by Derek and the Dominoes.
>Hmmm – so many tunes, so little time – right now, it’s “Satellite” by Guster.
>The Mud Kids by Rod McKuenI realize that it’s over 30 years old; I just don’t care.
>Terrible…so 80’s…but my fav of all times is Starry Eyes by Motley Crue.
>I don’t know if I have ever commented so I guess I am a lurker.Any of a number of Foo Fighters – “Cold Day in the Sun”, “Times Like These”, “New Way Home”…I am really liking “The Jessica Numbers” these days by The New Pornographers.
>Tough stuff. But I think I’ll pick “Halo” by Depeche Mode (off arguably their best album “Violator” – I think that was just past our Generra-wearing days!) although “Enjoy the Silence” is good too.
